Does anyone know of a good cafe in High St Thornbury?
Published 1 year, 8 months ago in My life.I’d love to be able to walk to my favorite local cafe for breakfast or brunch but as yet haven’t found one that makes me want to go back. I have tried a couple but they have been mediocre at best. My criteria is that the coffee has to be good, the menu has to be a little creative with something for everyone and the food has to be fresh and tasty.

Cafe, no, there is a dearth of good cafes in that area. Maybe that old firestation with Elvis’s favourite toasted peanut butter, honey and banana sandwich is worth a try. But it is in next door Preston, not that far, at 378 High St Preston. I found it funky, but a bit overpriced.
As for coffee, the wife at the real old fashioned coffee place opposite the dance hall, next to the lawn mower repairs in High St makes a great cappuccino/coffee. Hottest I’ve ever had, you cannot drink it straight away. You used to see places like this all the time when I was growing up, and you always wondered how they managed to stay in business…
Well I find the best eatery (not really a cafe) is coco inc… They have very delicious and big meals for brekkie/lunch and dinner, the best hot choc or coffee on high st I swear.
COCO!
